Privacy Policy & Data Protection
I am a full member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. This means that I am fully insured and that I follow the FHT Code of Conduct and Professional Practice. In brief this means that you can trust that I will meet the very high standards expected by FHT.
An important part of this is my commitment to Confidentiality. I will keep all client communication and information confidential. This is important because being able to relax and to de stress can include talking about your personal life, and being able to do this requires you to trust that what you say is not shared with a third party. I will also keep any information about your treatment confidential and the notes that I take on each of your treatments is kept in a safe and locked filing cabinet. Personal Data
I take great care to safeguard personal data provided by my clients and to process this data fairly and lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the new General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR). I request the minimum level of personally identifying information to run my business effectively. This is data you provide to me directly, for example your name and contact details. I will never obtain information about you indirectly from sources outside of my business.
When providing details about yourself you can be confident that:
· Any information you provide is confidential and secure.
· I will always endeavour to keep accurate and up to date information on you.
· I will not share or sell your details to other organisations, for example marketing or fundraising purposes.
· You have the right to request access to the data I hold on you, and the right to request I delete that data.
In accordance with the new GDPR regulations, I am obliged to retain documented evidence of individuals opting in to receive communications, either electronically, on paper or face to face. This data is filed in my client database.
I adhere to an opt-in system for my email updates, so I will only ever send emails to those who have requested them. You can remove yourself from the mailing list anytime via the link to unsubscribe at the bottom of every email or by emailing massage@tamsinoliver.co.uk and requesting your email address is removed from the list. If you wish, you can also request all data I hold on you is deleted.
You have the right to request a copy of all data I hold on you, as well as the 'right to be forgotten' (request that all data held on you is deleted or anonymised). If you would like to exercise your right to request your data, or be forgotten, please email to let me know and I will implement your request within the required 30 days.
Cookies
Cookies are small files saved to the user’s computer hard drive that track, save and store information about the user’s interactions and usage of the website. Cookies are used to help analyse data about web page traffic and improve the website. A cookie in no way gives access to any information about you, other than the data you chose to share with me. You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser to decline cookies if you prefer.
